Hello and welcome! My name is Victoria O’Connor, Owner and Therapist at Sapphire Blooms Counseling. I’m an LPC in Texas with about 8 years of experience working with survivors of trauma. I opened my practice part-time in early Spring 2026. This July, I have transitioned into work at Sapphire Blooms Counseling full time, and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my practice more fully.
My goals for Sapphire Blooms Counseling are to continue my passion to support survivors of abuse and trauma and to help women reconnect with themselves after being put down and belittled for so long. I also have a special passion for supporting new parents through the overwhelming transition into parenthood, and helping moms with emotional concerns during pregnancy and postpartum. Ultimately, I hope that through my work at Sapphire Blooms Counseling, I can offer a glimmer of hope for those who may be feeling the weight of the world.
Everyone struggles with something from time to time, whether from the lingering pain of past childhood experiences, or a toxic relationship that you can’t seem to shake off, or constantly feeling dysregulated while striving to be the “perfect” parent, or feeling burnt out by all your responsibilities that seem to only pile up more and more. It’s okay to ask for help. Relationships can be the source of so much pain, and yet also be a pathway towards healing– there can be so much relief in sharing your struggle in a safe, non-judgmental space. I am here to support you, hold space for you, help you understand yourself, learn new tools to cope with whatever life keeps throwing at you, and guide you in letting go of the pain of the past so you can start believing in yourself and a future of possibility again.
A little about my professional background: I worked for over 7 years at Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, TX, first as a Women’s and Children’s Therapist and later as an Assistant Director of Clinical and Professional Services. At Genesis, I really valued my work helping survivors of intimate partner violence and domestic violence find healing. It was so rewarding to help clients on their journey to finding safety, helping clients understand abuse was never their fault, and supporting clients in recovering from the trauma they experienced. I had the privilege to be a witness for clients truly rediscovering themselves and their worthiness. This important work really shaped who I am as a therapist now.
I have received extensive training in trauma-informed care and working with survivors of trauma. I am trained in two evidence-based trauma therapy models, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. CPT and EMDR both help clients to process traumatic experiences and decrease PTSD symptoms, but they approach trauma treatment in two different ways. At Sapphire Blooms Counseling, I assist clients in determining which trauma therapy may be the best fit for each unique person, and we’ll work together to come up with a treatment plan that aligns with your needs and your goals.
I am available to support clients in-person in my office in Dallas, TX, centrally located near 75 and Walnut Hill in the Meadow Central building, close to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. I also offer virtual sessions to clients anywhere in the state of Texas. I am in-network with several insurances and also accept private pay if you do not want to go through your insurance provider.
If you’ve been wondering about starting therapy, now is a great time to get started. It can be really helpful to talk more in a quick phone call so you can ask any questions and to see if I am the right fit for you. You can schedule a free consultation call on my booking page here or email me directly to schedule a call. It would be a true honor to get to support you on your healing journey!
